PAT Dog Contributions

Hi Charmaine,

This is me, Monty, with the latest report of our visits.

It was raining really hard when we arrived at Rusoord but I still wanted to sniff a bit under a nearby tree before going inside to the frail care. That made me a little damp but I don't mind that being a lab. I like the first lady because she always offers me a biscuit. Last time it was a half, this time a whole one. I kept eye contact with her all the time after that in case she gave me another but I know Jessie won't allow that. This woman is so cheerful even though she has bad arthritis. I must say that I seem to prefer sniffing on the floor than saying hello because these  people seem to drop bits of food all over the place. I really embarrassed Jessie when, in another woman's room, I got a whiff of something tasty in her bin so I dived in and pulled out a tissue. I knew there was something inside so I scrunched it up and found a little crust. She should have eaten her crust anyway! All the bits of tissue paper had to be put back in the bin before we left!  By the way I do this regularly at home as well.

One sweet lady said "I saw you coming in the rain from my window". She is the one who is getting new teeth in August. She told us how very sore her back was and that the doctor was coming to see her. And as we left she said "Thank you so much for coming. You made my day!"

It's quite tiring wandering around down the corridors. Many people said, "We didn't think you would come because the weather is so bad". Just as well we braved the weather because we saw the notice on the board telling of our visit. I felt very proud. Some of the people remembered my name from last time. One even thought my name was 'Monkey' but that was because she was a bit deaf. Some of the old peoples' faces light up when they see me coming and thank us so nicely for the visit. One lady said, "I love you" to me. Others tell me I'm very handsome!

Love,

Monty
