About Marcos Cruz...

My eye for photography has worked for me in many different areas throughout my life, culminating from time to time in awards like ‘Fine Artist of the Year 1996’ and receiving the highest academic awards for photography at Inscape.

From the moment I took my first pictures with the tiny Leica my father gave me, I fell in love with the photographic world. Since then, having studied graphic design and film, I have pursued various creative Forms.  From the outset, my move into the film world was inevitable.  I have worked my way from operating cameras in TV shows to producing huge commercials for
clients such as Thomas Cook, Mercedes, All Bran, Johnson & Johnson and many more.  Also producing a best overall Vuka Award in 2004.

Over the last five years I have helped build and shape one of the biggest production companies in South Africa.   All the while, I have relentlessly pursued my passion: To communicate viscerally, powerfully and intelligently through photography.

I believe I bring a multi-dimensional approach to a photographic shoot that is rare, while effortlessly grasping the practicalities
of the production, budgeting and business side of shoots.  I am equally able to focus my creative eye fully on realizing the vast creative potential and vision required to optimize every shot I take.
